About the Journal
The Dyal Singh Journal of Humanities and Social Sciences (DSJHSS) is an online, open-access, peer-reviewed and refereed research journal published by Government Dyal Singh Graduate College, Lahore, Pakistan. It is a multidisciplinary and bilingual journal accepting scholarly contributions in English and Urdu and is published twice a year, in June and December.
The journal provides an academic forum for researchers and scholars from Pakistan and abroad to disseminate original, unpublished, and high-quality research in the broad fields of humanities and social sciences. It promotes both disciplinary and interdisciplinary scholarship and welcomes theoretical, empirical, analytical, and critical research in areas including literature, languages and linguistics, arts, history, economics, education, media studies, sociology, psychology, international relations, political and cultural studies, anthropology, Islamiyat, and allied disciplines.
DSJHSS seeks to promote research quality through scholarly collaboration, intellectual exchange, innovation, and the development of knowledge relevant to national and international academia. Manuscripts are considered on the basis of their originality, academic merit, relevance to the journal's scope, methodological and analytical quality, and compliance with the journal's ethical and publication requirements.
All eligible manuscripts undergo initial editorial screening followed by a double-blind peer-review process. DSJHSS follows an open-access publishing model, under which published articles are immediately and freely available to readers. Published works are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) License, permitting appropriate sharing and reuse with proper attribution.
The journal is free to read and free to publish and currently levies no Article Processing Charges (APCs), submission fees, or publication charges on authors.
Revenue Sources and Financial Support
The Dyal Singh Journal of Humanities and Social Sciences (DSJHSS) is a non-commercial, institutionally supported, open-access journal. At present, the journal does not generate revenue through Article Processing Charges (APCs), submission fees, publication charges, subscriptions, or charges for access to its published content.
The journal is financially and administratively supported by Government Dyal Singh Graduate College, Lahore, through the institution's available and limited resources. The members of the editorial team, advisory board, reviewers, and other personnel associated with the journal currently contribute their academic and editorial services on a voluntary basis.
The journal may, where available and permissible under institutional and applicable regulatory policies, receive financial support in the future from the parent institution, research grants, the Higher Education Commission (HEC), or other legitimate research-funding agencies. Any such financial support shall be used solely for the scholarly and operational activities of the journal, including maintenance of the journal's online platform and archives, editorial and publication-related expenses, preservation and dissemination of published content, technical services, and, where resources permit, appropriate remuneration for reviewers or personnel providing journal-related services.
Any future revenue, grant, sponsorship, or other financial support received by the journal shall be administered transparently in accordance with the policies and decisions of Government Dyal Singh Graduate College, Lahore, and/or its competent Research Committee. Sources of financial support shall not influence editorial decisions, peer review, acceptance or rejection of manuscripts, or the academic independence and integrity of the journal.
