Author Fees and Article Processing Charges

The Dyal Singh Journal of Humanities and Social Sciences (DSJHSS) does not charge authors any fee for manuscript submission, editorial screening, peer review, or manuscript withdrawal.

The journal charges an Article Processing Charge (APC) only after a manuscript has successfully completed the peer-review and revision process and has been formally accepted for publication.

The applicable APC and bank account are:

  • PKR 15,000 for national authors;

  • USD 60 for international authors.

  • Bank of Punjab: 6510052309600126 (Branch Code: 0102)

There is:

  • no submission fee;

  • no editorial screening or peer-review fee;

  • no manuscript-withdrawal charge;

  • no page charge;

  • no colour charge;

  • no separate language-editing fee charged by the journal; and

  • no separate publication fee other than the applicable APC stated above.

The APC is not payable at the time of submission or during peer review. After satisfactory revision and formal acceptance of the manuscript, the journal will issue an Acceptance Letter and provide payment instructions. The corresponding author will then be required to pay the applicable APC and send proof of payment to the Editorial Office at editor@dsjhss.gdscl.com.pk. Following verification of payment, the accepted article will proceed to final production and publication.

Payment Details

The Article Processing Charge (APC) is payable only after formal acceptance of the manuscript. Authors should not make any payment at the time of submission or during the peer-review process.

APC: PKR 15,000 for national authors; USD 60 for international authors.

When making payment, authors should mention their Manuscript ID and Corresponding Author's Name as the payment reference wherever possible.

After making payment, the corresponding author must send the payment receipt or other proof of payment to editor@dsjhss.gdscl.com.pk, clearly mentioning the manuscript ID, manuscript title, and corresponding author's name.

Authors should make payment only to the official account stated on the DSJHSS website and/or in the formal acceptance communication issued by the journal. Payment of the APC does not influence peer review or editorial decision-making and does not guarantee acceptance of a manuscript.

Optional Printed Copy

All published journal content remains freely accessible online. Authors who wish to obtain an optional printed copy may request one at a cost of PKR 1,500 per copy, including postage.

Purchase of a printed copy is entirely optional and is not a condition of submission, peer review, acceptance, online publication, access, or indexing.

Editorial Independence from Payment

Payment of the APC has no influence on editorial screening, peer review, reviewer recommendations, revision requirements, or the decision to accept or reject a manuscript.

A manuscript must first be accepted on academic, ethical, and editorial grounds before payment of the APC is requested. Payment cannot guarantee or influence acceptance.

Similarly, payment for an optional printed copy, or a decision not to purchase one, has no influence on any editorial or publication decision.

Future Changes

If DSJHSS changes its APC, introduces any additional author fee, or revises its optional print-copy charge in the future, the change will be approved through the journal's institutional management process and clearly disclosed on the journal website before it becomes applicable.

A new or revised fee will not be applied retrospectively unless the applicable charge and its conditions were clearly disclosed to the author before the relevant manuscript or service became subject to that charge.

Transparency

This policy shall be linked prominently from the Author Guidelines, submission area, and other relevant sections of the journal website so that authors can determine the applicable publication costs before submitting a manuscript.
