Self-Archiving and Repository Policy

Author Archiving Rights

The Dyal Singh Journal of Humanities and Social Sciences (DSJHSS) supports green open access and permits authors to deposit versions of their work in institutional, disciplinary or other suitable scholarly repositories.

No embargo period is imposed by the journal on permitted self-archiving.

Versions That May Be Deposited

Authors may deposit:

·        the submitted manuscript or preprint;

·        the Author's Accepted Manuscript following peer review; and

·        the published Version of Record.

Where Authors May Deposit

Permitted locations include:

·        institutional repositories;

·        disciplinary or subject repositories;

·        funder-mandated repositories;

·        the author's personal academic website;

·        university or research-centre webpages; and

·        other lawful non-deceptive scholarly repositories or sharing services.

Version of Record

When depositing the final published version, authors should retain the journal's bibliographic information and CC BY 4.0 licence statement and should link to the journal's article page where possible.

Earlier manuscript versions should, where practical, identify that a final version has subsequently been published in DSJHSS.

Licensing

The published Version of Record is made available under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International licence (CC BY 4.0). Reuse must comply with the licence and with any separate rights applying to third-party material.

No Transfer of Copyright Required

Because authors retain copyright, self-archiving does not require additional permission from the journal within the terms of this policy.

Third-Party Restrictions

Authors remain responsible for any third-party material included in deposited versions. Material used under permission limited to the journal publication may need to be removed or replaced before repository deposit if the permission does not cover that use.

Preservation Versus Self-Archiving

Author self-archiving is additional to, and does not replace, the journal's own long-term preservation arrangements.
